The number of applicants for medicine in Holland exceeds the number of available places Therefore a selection from the eligible applicants is made by means of a lottery ('numerus fixus'). There is a quota for the number of places open to foreigners. This means that the chances of getting in are extremely small. Once past the numerus fixus hurdle, the application goes to a Placement Committee, which determines where the prospective student may study. The student may indicate a preference for a particular university, but the Placement Committee will make the final decision.
To be admitted, the applicant must have the appropriate prior education. For applicants from Western Europe, the rule of thumb is that diplomas giving access to medicine or veterinary medicine in the country of origin are also valid in the Netherlands, provided that the applicant's final exams included the subjects of physics and chemistry. Applicants who do not have the necessary diploma or the required subjects in their final exams must request permission from the Board of Utrecht University to take part in the lottery.
If you do not have the right diploma or the required subjects, you can still take part in the lottery if you are enrolled in a preparatory year at an educational institution in the Netherlands. Utrecht University can provide a letter stating that you can be admitted after successfully passing the exams in this preparatory year. The exams must be taken before August 15 of a given year, and the IB Group must be informed officially through a letter of admission from the University. This procedure is time-consuming, taking at least four months.

The address to apply for admission or send a request is:
Utrecht University
Admissions Office, Student Service Centre
PO Box 80125, 3508 TC Utrecht, The Netherlands.

A request for admission must include the following items:

An official request specifying the department to which you want to be admitted
A short curriculum vitae (preferably typed);
An authorized piece of identification (photocopy of passport) stating your name, place and date of birth, and nationality;
Certified photocopies of all diplomas and lists of grades. If your documents are not in Dutch, English, German or French, they must be translated by a sworn translator. In that case, you must send the certified photocopied documents and the certified translations.
The Admissions Office can do the authentication of your documents. You must bring the original documents as well as the photocopies with you.

You can get mroe information from the following agencies:
Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports, PO Box 5406, 2280 HK Rijswijk Tel: +31 340 7911 Fax: 340 7834.

The way you have worded your question makes it impossible to answer.

The presidents before Lincoln weren't so busy doing anything not to focus on slavery. It wasn't an issue. It wasn't illegal. There might have been political debate and personal feelings, but it was an accepted practice at the time....

Why would they be doing something about a situation that was considered legal trade?

Slavery became an issue in the 1850's and was tied to the secession of the Southern states during the Civil War. Prior to that, it might have been a moral issue, but it wasn't illegal. Even some of our Presidents held slaves such as Thomas Jefferson. You can't use today's morals to judge histories motives, intentions and actions.

So anyway, your question makes it sound like they were resting on their laurels and not concentrating on the issue of slavery, but that would be like asking why President Obama isn't concentrating on liquor sales in America. Some people consider it immoral and think it should be banned, others accept it as their right to drink. One day if all liquor is abolished, they will look back and say "Why didn't Obama do something about it?"

No harm in not dancing or drinking. I'm sure soft drinks will be provided. My wife was raised a strict Pentecostal but dance with me and our son at his wedding (only slow). At home we do have a glass of wine from time to time. It's hard to believe that abstaining from these things at a wedding would even be noticed.

Just drink a soda or club soda with lime (refreshing). No alcohol is required.
As for dancing, have a couple of songs that you yourself can request from the dj, and dance with your fiancee to those songs when he/she plays them.

You'll be fine -- it seems as though you just have some social anxiety about attending.

That's a tough one because it really can depend on the individuals involved. I would usually say wait because PEOPLE CHANGE so much around the time of graduation. Especially high school! You didn't specify wether it was high school or college but I will assume its high school.

What I would do if I were you.....I would sit down with her and discuss your future and your intentions. There is no rush. There is nothing wrong with being in a comitted relationship and not being engaged. Now 2 years down the road might be a better bet.

I know you are excited but dude....if at all possible. Wait.

why would your moral convictions embarrass your fiance?

there is no reason why you should be anything but yourself. if you don't care to dance to a certain type of music...then don't. if you don't drink, then drink sodas or water or whatever you want to drink.

be true to yourself and expect your fiance to back you 100%.

a word of wisdom here, if your fiance does not have the same moral convictions as you do, you might be unequally yoking yourself. be careful.

That sounds so good.
Having people support the new president.

The Clintons are very smart people.
They hated Bush and they really like Obama.

I will side with the smart people on this one.

republicans suck so very bad it makes me sad.
Their stupidity ruins everything it touches.
Look what they did to me and my country.

I think your point of view is flawed, however, the time of the Obama ceremony is noon. Hillary Clinton will most likely become Secretary of State w/in the next day or so, as she has sailed through the confirmation process so far.

Everyone wants to volunteer to feed people on Thanksgiving. There's so many people wanting to volunteer that there isn't work for all of them. Then they go back to their lives and there aren't enough people to dole out soup to the homeless the next day. Volunteering on Thanksgiving only makes you feel good.

I suggest that you let a local family host you for dinner at their home on Thanksgiving Day. If you're a soldier, then you deserve some thanks yourself. There should be something on your base that will let you sign up to eat dinner with someone.

Then you can go feed the homeless. Be a regular volunteer that shows up every week to work. That's what the homeless need.

Only in Japan's case,I suggest you do NOT go to graduate school in Japan.

The reasons are following.

1.In Japan, game programmer can not earn much money and will be forced to work for long time with cheap fee.
2.There is not famous graduate school related to game or animation.

But there are some technical schools related to related to game or animation in Japan.
